I love to buy JRPG games, now that is a strange turn of phrase. when I look at a JRPG everything about them calls to me, pulls me in, and inevitably when I play them I seldom finish them. Perhaps its because they are too long, perhaps I'm too distracted. Whatever the reason, I pay for them, get my fill and move on when the next shiny thing comes along. All that is a preamble for the next shiny thing.
I'm trying to talk myself out of buying another JRPG, right now I have Xenoblade on my 3DS to play, I also have Bravely Default, which I havne't finished. Fire Emblem: Awakening is awaiting my return, not to mention FFVII, VIII, and XIII. That's just the JRPGs that I have, Western RPGs do the same thing to me, Pillars of Eternity which I love hasn't been touched in weeks, because I know if I want to play it, I require a solid block of time to enjoy it. I need to make progress in order to have fun in those games and progress is extremely slow, when you have limited time.
Grandia II, another JRPG that I've not played, with a monster score of 90 on metacritic (send your emails if you must, but metacritic is usually pretty spot on for me) is going to get a remastered version and it will be sold on Steam. They haven't mentioned a release date, I hope its well in the future as I have far too many massive games to come up with.
Have you played Grandia II? Do I need to play the first one before the sequel? Let me know in the comments below, or hit me up on twitter.
