Blizzard Bantacular!

Blizzard has banned over 100,000 accounts, now I don't like to use the word ban here, because these accounts are actually just suspended for 6 months.  However I love that this is happening.  I can't stand cheaters and I think its great when companies that clearly have something to lose (subscription money) do the right thing and kick cheaters out of their games.  Guild Wars 2 developer ArenaNet  is famous for its low tolerance of cheaters.  I think this is why the community in Guild Wars 2 is so great.

We’ve recently taken action against a large number of World of Warcraft accounts that were found to be using third-party programs that automate gameplay, known as “bots.” We’re committed to providing an equal and fair playing field for everyone in World of Warcraft, and will continue to take action against those found in violation of our Terms of Use. Cheating of any form will not be tolerated.
If you believe that you’ve encountered a player abusing a bot, exploit, or cheat, please let us know! You can do so by using the right-click report functionality in the game, and/or by emailing information to hacks@blizzard.com.

Most of the people affected by the ban were PvP botters that use software to earn PvP currency while not at the keyboard, others were using programs to craft.  This particular ban wave at 100,000 accounts, if true just cost blizzard 9 million dollars if the bans are for 6 months.  That is a great way to show your community that you care, walk away from 9 large, so that PvP is more fun for the people actually playing.
