Nintendo is profitable again.

For the first time in 4 years Nintendo is profitable.  During the last two console cycles, Nintendo has been the most profitable console manufacturer.  While SONY and Microsoft were using their consoles as loss leaders, Nintendo made money on every console sold.  That is not the case with the Wii U.  Last year Nintendo reported a loss of 23 billion yen, this year they have turned it around and are reporting a very impressive 41 billion yen profit.  Well done Nintendo.  Perhaps people will stop calling for Iwata's resignation.

What are they going to do with all that money (its really not that much 226 million)  It seems they are going to invest in a theme park.  Universal Studios and Nintendo announced today that they would be joining forces for Nintendo themed rides, which is awesome, but I live in the middle of nowhere so I'll probably never get to go.  It seems like he meant it when Iwata said last year that Nintendo isn't just a game company.

As if that wasn't enough Nintendo news for today, they also announced that they will be making more DLC for Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros.  I'm very happy about this as these are two of my favorite games.  The DLC for Mario Kart 8 has been a pretty big bang for your buck, and I can see a lot more levels and characters coming to both games.
