When I look at a point and click adventure, I'm always giddy with excitement about playing through a memorable story, but I always get bogged down in some puzzle that my brain can't quite figure out. It has happened to me with dozens of adventure games. From Back to the Future, to Grim Fandango. I just have a tendency to get bored if I get stuck, and I'm too stubborn to look it up so I move on, and play something else.
That being said, Minecraft: Story Mode looks great, it was announced at Minecon 2015 today, and I'm sure that I'll buy it. This one I will probably play with my son. It isn't a co-op game, but we'll be able to sit down on the couch and I'll help him get through the bits that he gets stuck on. The graphics look great, I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. The game looks like it was done in Minecraft, but at the same time it doesn't. I watched part of a Q&A with Telltale games, and they said that they built every environment in the game in Minecraft before building it in thier game, in order to keep things authentic. Check out the video below.
Once story mode comes out, I can foresee this becoming its own franchise, and perhaps even a TV show.
