Hey Bill,
Recently, I’ve been enjoying your presenting the topics that you’ll be talking about in the beginnings of each of your Nintendo Switch Craft podcast episodes. Though I remember you said you’ve been trying to steer away from the wholly-scripted concept, due to the large amount of time it takes up and among other things, it has been nice to hear what I’m “getting myself into” before each of your podcasts.
I’m anticipating that you’ll be the winner in the American next top podcaster thing you’ve been doing!

Hi Bill,
First, I’d like to say that I’m a fan of your podcast and I look forward to listening to your shows. I think you do a great job and keep up the good work!

I wanted to share something with you so I decided to send you an email. I am brand new to the Diablo series and jumped into D3 for the very first time about 1 month ago on the Nintendo switch. I really enjoyed playing through the game and advancing my characters through adventure mode. I got my witch doctor up to level 70 and paragon around 120 in seasonal. I’ve put about 60 hours into the game and was looking for ways to really advance my character. I found some top tier builds online and when I went to implement them in the game I found that I couldn’t replicate the build because “elective mode” does not work on the Switch. Elective mode allows the player to assign skills at any given slot but this does not appear to be possible on the Switch as the buttons on the controller are only limited to certain skills. I couldn’t help but be sorely disappointed that my character would not have access to a top tier build simply because of playing on the Switch. I can’t help but feel that this has taken away some of my enjoyment of the game. Am I overreacting? Have you run into a similar issue? I’m curious to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for reading my email. I hope you have a great day.

Has their been any word on Pilotwings, F-Zero and or WaveRace for the Nintendo Switch?Am also wondering if Square Enix will eventually release Life is Strange for the Nintendo Switch. Gems of War is also a game that would do nicely on the Nintendo Switch. – Manic Monkey

Celebrate Mario Day 2019 With a Weeklong Nintendo Switch Promotion

Wa-hoo! It’s almost time for Mario Day! Every year, people celebrate the mustached hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, on March 10, aka Mar10 Day. For this year’s celebration, Nintendo is offering a special deal on select Mario games for the Nintendo Switch system. Between Sunday, March 10, and Saturday, March 16, anyone outside the Mushroom Kingdom can purchase select Nintendo Switch systems and one of five select games starring Mario for a suggested retail price of only $329.98. That’s a savings of $30, which amounts to 50 percent off one of the games.

People that already own Nintendo Switch can still take advantage of the promotion, as they can purchase a digital download code from participating retail stores or retailer websites to redeem in Nintendo eShop for the same five Mario games for only $39.99 each. Downloaded games from Nintendo eShop live directly on the Nintendo Switch system, so it’s ideal for gamers who want all their games in one place, as there’s no need to carry around game cards.

The five Mario games featured in the promotion, which all offer fun experiences that can be enjoyed together by the whole family, are:

  • Super Mario Party, an uproarious party game for up to four players. Play as classic characters in a series of more than 80 fun new minigames.
  • Super Mario Odyssey, a massive globe-trotting 3D adventure for one to two players. Using his new ally Cappy to control objects, animals and enemies, Mario explores multiple creative Kingdoms to collect Power Moons.
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the multiplayer high-speed racer. Race friends through colorful tracks using iconic characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, and even Link from The Legend of Zelda series and the Inklings from Splatoon.
  • Mario Tennis Aces, a multiplayer sports game. Play locally or online with friends in fast-paced tennis matches across multiple modes.
  • New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, a multiplayer side-scrolling platformer with 164 creative and challenging levels.

“What better way to celebrate Mario Day than by playing some of the most popular Mario games on Nintendo Switch,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “This promotion is a great option for consumers who want to pick up Nintendo Switch and some hit games at a value price.”

The Nintendo Switch system + one Mario game promotion will be available in store and online at participating retailers, while the individual Mario game sale is exclusive to participating retailers that sell digital download codes. For more information about the promotion, including a list of participating retailers, visit https://www.nintendo.com/games/sales-and-deals.

Skyhill First Look

Bio-weapons can be quite deadly don’t you think? Well, the main character of the new game “Skyhill” for Nintendo Switch knows that all too well. I was lucky enough to receive a review copy from the awesome developers over at Klabater. This game takes place after World War III. Yes, I said it, World War III. There are many awesome features as you can see below that make this roguelike quite unique and a fresh take on the genre!

You start out in the penthouse and must work your way down one floor at a time. You must take the stairs and move from room to room looting and making sure to either kill or avoid mutants. There are a diverse set of items from weapons, meds, health, crafting and more. You can also upgrade your character in certain stats such as strength, agility, and the like. If you do die, you will have to restart all over from the beginning. If you build up enough crafting materials, you can take the elevator back to your penthouse and use the bench to craft new items. There’s a bed there too!

Main Features:

  • Rogue-like RPG gameplay in an apocalyptic survival setting
  • Randomly generated maps – fresh start during every session
  • Gain experience, craft weapons and look for useful objects
  • Face an army of nightmarish creatures
  • Go for the head or land a body shot – choose wisely
  • Everything you find may become helpful!
  • Difficulty levels give you the chance to actually survive this, or try to outlast this hell under the worst conditions
  • Open end – is there still hope? Come and find out!
  • Various special abilities to unlock
  • Turn based combat with a sophisticated risk and reward system
  • Fast travel with the elevator

I had a great time playing through this game and you can check out my first look on YouTube. The roguelike genre as a whole offers much replayability and the fact that there are 100 floors enable Skyhill to have a great deal of design to it. I could see this game taking many hours to complete and even longer to 100% (completionist). Overall, this first look really gave me some good feels and a sense of immersion. I enjoy the subtle music and art style that this game offers. Check out some links below and let me know what you think if you decide to pick up the game!
