You said you are still having frame rate issues with Zelda but you have also said installing the game on the system could fix this.So if you have a back up of your game then you could uninstall it, remove the SD card and reinstall on the system.

In regards to Pokemon version exclusives. You and your son can pick up duplicates then trade them. So other than the legendary, you should be able to collect most of them, including Sir’fetchd, even if you aren’t playing Sword.

Email from Nick

I agree with you on loot boxes and other money sucking stuff.  Did you like the old days, no internet just your cart and game console.? I worry that soon the switch will not have a cart slot. If that happens I will retire from gaming.  I think you should be able to pay for a game “ONE AND DONE. I want to Thank You for spreading the word about what might be the end of console gaming.

Email from James

I want to talk about Mario Kart Tour after you recently discussed on your show.

The game isn’t as fun as Mario Kart Deluxe on the Switch. It never will be. However, for a phone game, I think it is pretty fun. There are settings you can adjust, but generally I am able to steer my kart and enjoy the game.
Now let’s talk about the pay model. I will probably never pay real money for the game. $5 a month for minimal content is not worth it. I might consider at $1 a month, though. The rubies to unlock new karts and drivers through a gacha system are also not worth it. If Nintendo offered a bunch of permanently unlocked content for about $10 like Super Mario Run, I think I would do it.
Time will tell if Nintendo’s sales approach to this game will work. However, for now I am happy to enjoy a Mario Kart race on my phone for free for a few minutes here and there.

Email from Scott

Hey Bill… you told us we were free to tell you you’re wrong. 🙂 But
not on the topic you were talking about (which I agreed).

The detail I wanted to bring up was your comment about corporations
having a legal obligation to maximize shareholder profits. This is a
common myth often repeated around the internet, podcasts, and news
stories, but it is not true.

https://www.lawschool.cornell.edu/academics/clarke_business_law_institute/corporations-and-society/Common-Misunderstandings-About-Corporations.cfm
  (see the last/third point)

https://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2015/04/16/what-are-corporations-obligations-to-shareholders/corporations-dont-have-to-maximize-profits

Would be good to put an end to this “old wive’s tale” as many
justifications and rants I’ve heard have been based on this
misconception. If the person realized it wasn’t actually the case, it’d
often change the dialog considerably.

Hello bill, been following you for some time now, love your content, and your effort.. thanks for making a difference in the Nintendo community… my question for you is, a while back you had the creator of the game DING DONG XL, on your podcast.. he had mentioned there was an Easter egg, or some type of secret in the game, he didn’t say, and you didn’t pry? But since the game has been out for a while, was that secret ever revealed ? Respect everything you do.

Email from James

Maybe you’ve seen this, but this is a deep Kotaku article about eshop sales that is worth a read.

Email from Kaylee

Hey Bill,
A word of warning for international folks like me!
I have multiple accounts on my Switch, all of which are registered on different eShops in different regions. I buy games based on price, language availability and release date, but to play them all, I only ever use my main Japanese account. It has both Nintendo Switch Online, as well as all of my save data.
I knew about the limitations of having multiple Switches, including the hassles around save data, but I thought that since I’m the only one playing, it would be fine, especially since my old Switch was to remain docked & connected to the internet as a secondary device.
I was rereading the procedure on how to register my new Switch Lite as my Primary console when it hit me: digital games can *only* be played using the account they were purchased with, meaning that I would be locked out of my save data on my main account for any digital games not purchased on the Japanese eShop…
Needless to say, this *significantly* reduces my desire to own a 2nd Switch. Only being able to play a percentage of the games I have bought & paid for, or be forced to juggle multiple accounts & friends lists (and pay for Nintendo Switch Online in multiple regions!) is just not workable for me. (Not to mention that the Switch Lite’s screen has a noticeably warmer tint which did not appeal to me…)
So less than an hour after bringing it home, I decided to sell my Switch Lite… (Alas, Japanese stores don’t really accept returns, so I’m going to take a hit, but what can you do?)
I hope this helps someone else out there like me!

From details about upcoming DLC for the MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order game to deep dives into games like ASTRAL CHAIN and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition, the news coming out of gamescom highlighted the deep well of content that is headed to Nintendo Switch this year.

Some of the news revealed at the show includes:

  • The director of the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games, Shigeru Ohmori from GAME FREAK, provided a short video message for fans, offering a new look at one of the towns in the Galar region. Pokémon Swordand Pokémon Shield launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch on Nov. 15.
  • In MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order, players will step into the boots of the urban vigilantes known as Punisher, Blade, Moon Knight and Morbius, as the Marvel Knights join the alliance. In Gauntlet Mode, up to four players* take on a frenzied series of co-op challenges in rapid succession to earn rewards. In addition, alternative outfits for all playable characters will be added to the game via a series of free updates, starting on Aug. 30 with new outfits for Spider-Man, Hulk and Captain Marvel. Good Evening Bill. Yesterday I traded in my Switch for the newer version. My original Switch(which I’ve had since launch) has been bricked for well over a year. I held off simply because I play in handheld mode 90% of the time regardless. But… the upgraded chip had me at hello. GameStop gave me $175 trade credit for my Bricked Switch(which I was extremely happy with) and I switched Switches! The guy at GS said something about the screen running at a lower temp or something, but I can see a difference there as well. Not as much glare for sure. I am very happy with it, I transferred my thousands of hours of save data no problem. Just wanted to share my experience with you and show. I’ve been an every episode fan for a long time. Thanks for the Show! It’s the best Nintendo podcast out there.

Here’s a few if you’re still looking for them! For me a lot of them are great SNES games that were left of the SNES classic but I still wish were available for play somewhere. Licenses be damned.
Chrono TriggerSuper, Mario All Stars, Cool Spot, Actraiser, Final Fantasy IV (not on the snes Classic but incredible, influential, and defining RPG) Donkey Kong country 2 and 3, Super Bases Loaded 3: License to Steal, TMNT IV: Turtles in Time, Super Star Wars 1-3, Lufia 2, The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse

Email from Scott

Hey Bill… just listened to NSC380. You mentioned that it was ok that the extra dock doesn’t include a power adapter since Nintendo is just using “standard” USB-C chargers now. That’s actually not correct. While USB-C is indeed a standard, Nintendo’s implementation of it is non-compliant and breaks the standard, which is why some third-party chargers were damaging Switches.

So it stands that Nintendo SHOULD be including a power adapter. Even it was compliant to the standard, anyone buying a spare dock likely needs a power supply as well. But really, Nintendo shouldn’t be breaking the USB-C standard to begin with.

YouTube Comment from Lee Lee Bird

I love indie games but for some reason i get indie burnout quicker than i get AAA burnout lol Many of these blended into another.. Ori looks like Hollow Knight At first glance. MY eyes are now towards a September Direct. Great job as always RJS!
