Hi Bill, I live near NYC, so I go to Nintendo NY quite frequently.  They used to have a nice Amiibo display on the second floor.  This seems to have been replaced by a cool statue of Link.  They also used to have quite a vast selection of Amiibos, but now it is just a small area of the store (a small display and just 3 or 4 characters)  This change happened around March.

Thanks,
Drew

So, I had a thought about something that’s lacking in the switch firmware, the social / sharing integrations for the switch is not good. It feels like it’s the bare minimum for sharing a video/photo to fb/twitter. For example, an autocomplete on a # tag would be really nice. as well as maybe a google drive / dropbox integration where I could save my video out to a cloud service without having to physically take my sd card to a computer. While I’m at it, the typing on the switch screen (since I primarily use it handheld) is not very good either. I don’t think Nintendo has done a lot of work to make that experience very good. Typing on a switch is not nearly as important as on a phone, but I think nintendo could take a note from iOS/android by helping the user “cheat” while typing. For example, you can change the touch areas for the screen based on the word that is being spelled, and provide more autocomplete suggestions at the top of the keyboard. Or perhaps allow third party keyboards? I know that all of these are not trivial, and that the biggest smartphone manufacturers still struggle with thisI guess this is only a problem for those of us who are primarily handheld users of the system. Really the keyboard isn’t my biggest gripe, it’s the lack of cloud storage integration.

Hi Bill,I have played New Super Mario Deluxe Wii but never did get the WiiU version.  I also never got Mario Maker for the WiiU.  I loved the Super Mario Deluxe Wii and 2DS so I’m wondering if I was to buy one, which one should I buy? One has infinite levels and the other has beautiful handcrafted levels.THanks,Lee.

Vanquish Mythical Monsters and Go Island Hopping on Nintendo Switch Online in March

After falling from Angel Land, the NES games launching on Nintendo Switch Online this month have landed on a tropical paradise. On March 13, classics Kid Icarus and StarTropics join dozens of other NES games as part of the Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online collection.

  • Kid Icarus – The evil goddess Medusa has stolen the Three Sacred Treasures and imprisoned the goddess of light, Palutena, in her evil plot to control all. Play as Pit, a young angel who has been entrusted with a magical bow and arrow. Fight against hordes of enemies that swoop from above and below. Secure the Three Sacred Treasures from their evil guardians, equip them and face Medusa in the final battle.
  • StarTropics – Step into the shoes of Mike Jones, a teenage star pitcher from Seattle, who has come to the tropics to visit his famous archaeologist uncle, Dr. Jones. After being told that his uncle has been abducted, Mike begins a perilous quest in order to rescue him and figure out the mysterious plot behind his disappearance. Luckily for Mike, he meets helpful villagers and finds more powerful weapons as he explores numerous locations and island hops using his uncle’s submarine.

These titles join the growing library of NES games with newly added online play on the Nintendo Switch system, which also includes more than 30 classics like Super Mario Bros.Donkey Kong and The Legend of Zelda that are available exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online members.

Also, Nintendo Switch Online members who have downloaded the Tetris® 99 game can participate in the Tetris 99 MAXIMUS CUP online event from 5 a.m. PT on March 8 to 11:59 p.m. PT on March 10.
